Graffis Furniture Anniversary Sale Direct Mailer
After 50 years in business, Graffis Furniture wanted to celebrate with their customers. This direct mail piece was designed to be highly graphic, with brief, high-impact text. With just a few words, this piece got the point across; Graffis had its second-biggest sale ever, outdone only by the "Thank You" Sale (described below).

Graffis Furniture "Thank You" Sale Direct Mailer
In fall 2002, Graffis Furniture wanted to announce their upcoming 50th anniversary, and thank their longstanding customers for their loyalty. To do this, I wrote this direct mail piece in the form of a personal letter from the owners. I also wrote a television spot, which was produced by a colleague of mine. Those two pieces of advertising combined to give Graffis the best sale it had ever had throughout the store’s near half-century of business.

WorkMax Brochure
The WorkMax was a new utility vehicle developed by Grumman Olson Industries in 2002; it was designed for those who need to carry an assortment of tools and equipment on a daily basis. I was involved in a team effort to name the truck, and I wrote collateral materials to help promote the WorkMax. The campaign was very successful, with numerous trucks being ordered even before the vehicle was available in dealerships. In this portion of the product brochure, vignettes were used to address a variety of workers for whom the WorkMax is a practical choice.

WorkMax Direct Mailer
Designed as a condensed version of the main product brochure, this piece was intended for use by dealerships. The headline on the cover posed the question, "Are you at Maximum?" ... with a response just inside ... "Get there with the WorkMax." The main graphic - the truck with "Maximum" callouts - was also used inside the main brochure.

Rollin' Through Summer Sale
After several years of handling their marketing internally, Gerencer's Harley-Davidson looked to boost sales through an ad agency. Since my employer took over this account in January 2003, I have written a new, quarterly newsletter for the dealership, along with promotional radio spots, which run for a full week leading up to a special sale. The results have made the client very happy; total purchases for each event have doubled over the same promotions from a year ago.
